The first research-backed team-coaching credential

Stop guessing.
Start proving.

You've done the certifications. Your team still struggles — because those proved you showed up, not that you can move a team when the pressure's real. Five measurable drivers decide that. Adaptive Foundations shows you which one is capping your team, hands you the 90-day system to fix it, and you earn it by proving you can — not by sitting through it. Built on evidence, not opinion.

Founding cohort — only 50 spots at this price, then it goes to $397.

I didn't set out to write research.
I set out to fix a problem.

Watch: why I built this — about 90 seconds. Or read the short version below.

For decades I watched the same thing happen — to teams I coached, and to myself. We had the certifications. We knew the frameworks. And when the pressure actually hit, none of it told us what to do. The credentials proved we'd studied. They couldn't prove we could lead a team through the hard part.

I got tired of guessing. I wanted to know, for certain, why some teams adapt and thrive under pressure while others quietly fall apart — so I could coach toward it on purpose instead of hoping.

So I did the unglamorous thing: I studied it. I surveyed working professionals across four industries and pulled the data apart, fully expecting it to come back messy. It didn't.

Five factors explained almost three-quarters of the difference. Not personality. Not raw talent. Five things you can actually measure — and coach.

That's when it clicked. I wasn't holding a pile of findings anymore — I was holding a map. A way to see exactly where a team is stuck, and what to do about it.

Adaptive Foundations is that map, built into something you can use in 90 days. The evidence is underneath all of it, quietly doing its job — so you can stop guessing and start coaching with proof.

— Dr. Devon Morris, creator of Adaptive Foundations

You're certified.
Your team still struggles.

You have the credentials. You know the frameworks. You can facilitate a debrief and run a planning session in your sleep. But when the pressure is real — when people are shutting down, when the goals shift mid-cycle, when the team stops caring — your certification has nothing for you.

So you do what most practitioners do. You carry it. You absorb the dysfunction. You become the glue holding everything together through sheer personal effort. And you call it leadership.

It's not leadership. It's survival. And it's unsustainable.

The gap between what certifications teach and what teams actually need is the reason this program exists. And here's the distinction that matters: the certifications you already hold proved you attended. This one is different — you earn it by proving you can actually diagnose a team and coach it, and the whole thing rests on a research-validated model that explains almost 74% of what makes teams adapt or collapse under pressure.

Not another badge for showing up. Proof you can do the work.

The things no certification taught you.

The five drivers that predict almost 74% of adaptive performance — and the one most leaders never coach for, because no one ever named it for them.

Why your most talented team can still plateau — and why the bottleneck is almost never the thing you're currently working on.

How to pinpoint your team's single biggest gap with a diagnostic instead of a gut feeling — so your coaching finally lands where it counts.

The three coaching playbooks matched to specific gaps — so you stop applying the same generic advice to very different problems.

How to prove your coaching worked with a 90-day before-and-after — the difference between "I think I helped" and "here's the evidence."

Why "resilience," "agility," and "commitment" aren't buzzwords once you can measure them — and what changes the moment you can.

Seven modules. Two phases. One credential.

Self-paced. Research-grounded. Assessed for competence, not just completion.

A Foundation for What's Next

This is Tier 1 — the entry point to a growing path. Founding members get in at the ground floor of everything that comes next.

50 spots. One price. You're in.

The first 50 practitioners get founding cohort access before the program goes to full price ($397).

🛡️

You're not taking a leap of faith.

Work through Phase 1, run the diagnostic on your team, and if it doesn't surface something about them you genuinely hadn't seen before — email me at team@8typical.com and tell me. I read every one.

And you can't fail your way out of the credential: enrollment includes three attempts at the final assessment, and your access to all 7 modules, the playbooks, and the diagnostic stays with you no matter how the exam goes.

This is a credential you earn by proving competence — so the only thing being asked of you is the work, not a gamble.

Built for practitioners who are done guessing.

Team coaches & facilitators

You coach teams through change but lack a diagnostic framework to know where to focus. You're working hard but can't prove what's working. This gives you the model and the measurement.

Project & program managers

You manage the work but also manage the people. When team dynamics break down under pressure, your PM certification has nothing for you. This fills that gap with evidence-based tools.

HR & L&D professionals

You invest in team development but struggle to measure coaching impact. This program gives you a before-and-after framework that connects coaching interventions to measurable outcomes.

Consultants & organizational coaches

You work with multiple teams across multiple organizations. You need a repeatable, evidence-based methodology that produces measurable results you can show your clients — not just anecdotes.

Not opinions. Evidence.

Every module, every playbook, and every move in this program traces back to real research — a study of how coaching, resilience, goal commitment, and learning agility shape whether a team performs when the pressure is on. Here's what it found.

Earned like a craft.
Proven like a trade.

For centuries, real skill was never certified by sitting in a room. It was proven — to someone who had already mastered the work. An electrician, a plumber, a mason doesn't earn the title by attending. They earn it by demonstrating, hands-on, that they can actually do it. Adaptive Foundations is built in that spirit.

It also answers the trap everyone's caught in: every role wants experience, and no one will give you the experience to get it. We can't hand you four years on the job — but we can hand you documented proof that you diagnosed a real team, coached it, and measured the result. Evidence of applied competence, not just another line on a résumé.

What it is

  • A self-paced credential you earn by proving competence
  • Built on research and assessed against a real standard
  • Documented evidence you applied it to an actual team
  • The first rung of a craft ladder, toward mastery

What it's not

  • A registered or government apprenticeship program
  • A seat-time certificate for showing up
  • A job-placement or guaranteed-employment offer
  • A degree or a professional license

In short: apprenticeship-like, not an apprenticeship. The same time-tested principle — you don't get the standing until you prove the work — applied to coaching teams.

This is the foundation.
Here's what we're building on it.

Adaptive Foundations is exactly what the name says — the foundation. The people who join now aren't just earning a credential. They're getting in at the ground floor.

TIER 1

Foundations — you are here. The self-paced credential: diagnose what's capping a team and coach the fix, built on the five drivers.

TIER 2

Professional — construct credentials + live cohorts. Go deeper on the specific drivers — resilience, goal commitment, team coaching, learning agility — with live cohort components. Foundations is the prerequisite.

TIER 3

Master — the full toolkit, and a seat at the table. The highest tier: certified to administer the complete ThrivQ assessment with your own clients and teams — and eligible to join the pool of certifiers who credential the next wave of coaches. Our goal is to draw the first of those certifiers from this founding cohort. That's not a bigger badge. That's a role.

Our long-term aim is to align this credential with recognized international standards for professional certification — so what you earn carries weight far beyond our community. We're not there yet. We're telling you the destination, not selling you a claim. That's exactly why the founding 50 matters: you get in before it's finished — and you're first in line for everything it becomes.

Frequently asked questions

Is this just another online course? +
No. This is a micro-credential with assessed competence requirements. You take assessments, submit artifacts evaluated against a rubric, and pass a 30-question final exam at 80%. When you earn the badge, it means you demonstrated competence — not just that you watched some videos.
How long does it take to complete? +
Most learners complete in 4–8 weeks at their own pace. The program is self-paced with no deadlines. The final assessment unlocks after you have completed all module quizzes and submitted both phase gate artifacts.
What if I fail the final assessment? +
You get three total attempts. The first two are included with enrollment (second attempt after a 7-day wait). A third attempt is available after a 30–60 day wait and a $25 retake fee. Course content access is retained regardless of assessment outcome.
Do I need a team to complete the program? +
Phase 1 (Modules 1–4) focuses on your personal development — no team needed. Phase 2 (Modules 5–7) applies the model to a team. If you don't currently lead a team, the observational diagnostic allows you to complete Phase 2 using a team you have recent access to.
Is this only for Agile/Scrum professionals? +
No. The research was conducted across four industries — technology, healthcare, finance, and government. The model applies to any team working under real pressure and constant change. Whether you're a team coach, a project manager, or an HR professional, the framework works.
What does the credential lead to? +
Adaptive Foundations is the first tier of a growing path. Beyond it: deeper, construct-specific credentials with live cohorts, and — further out — a professional certification and a route for advanced members to become certifiers themselves. See "The Road Ahead" above for where this is headed. What you earn here is the foundation for all of it.
Can I get a refund? +
Because you get immediate, full access to everything the moment you enroll — all 7 modules, 21 videos, 18 worksheets, the coaching playbooks, and the ThrivQ diagnostic — enrollment isn't refundable once it's unlocked to you. But you're not gambling on the outcome: the credential is earned by demonstrating competence (with three attempts at the final), and your access stays with you regardless. Work through Phase 1, and if the diagnostic doesn't show you something new about your team, email team@8typical.com.
